Presented in 1879 to George Campbell Maconchy for a 3 mile race
GC Maconchy was born 23rd January 1859 in Exeter, Devon and studied at the RIEC Coopers Hill before moving to India for work in 1881.
The RIEC was at Coppers Hill the site of the famous cheese rolling race from 1872-1906
George passed away in 1907 following an exemplary career in India
The trophy stands 157mm high, 77mm diameter at the neck and 60mm at the base
Weighs 400g
