Description

The Holster Shooting Stick
An ash and aluminium Shooting Stick with leather grip.

This Shooting Stick is stamped with the name The "Holster" to the metal below the seat. It's made to dismantle into 3 sections to reduce its length and so make it easier to pack. The metal joints each unscrew and are stamped Prov.Pot suggesting that the manufacture was protecting his design. The ferrule to the bottom of the stick is stamped Made in England. When the handle is unclipped it folds out to form a seat for the user to lean on.

The removable disc, that prevents the spike sinking too far into the ground, is marked This Side and Patent 351652. The patent was taken out by J. Patterson and J. O. Stone of Crichton Works, Frederick Street and C. Deayman of 26A Stafford Street, both in Walsall, on 1st May 1930. It refers to the spring method of removing the disc and securing it to the ferrule on the side of the cane.
No leather seat but not sure if it ever had one?
Circa 1935.
