Description
This is a pair of very nice WW2 era RAF Navigator's Air Ministry Instrument / Pencil Box 6B/472 used by Aircraft Navigators to store their pens/pencils and other drawing instruments.
Approximate Size (WHD) : 21.5 x 4 x 15 cm.
A small wood box, with its original brass clasp and hinged lid, painted in typical RAF grey and lined with green felt. In good condition with some loss of paint and slight damage to the felt commensurate with age and use.
Also original clasp/fastener with REF :NO 10A/3371
It has the RAF Stores reference 6B/472 stamped on the lid: 6B =Aircraft - Navigation Equipment.
A lovely little WW2 aviation collectible or a quirky addition to the vintage office.
One box has a label stuck on the front that could be removed.
