French Single Action Out The Front (SA OTF) Knife 1960s.
This quite rare French SA OTF knife is marked Makinox Depose and is in great condition with very little wear. Believed to be from the '60s it consists of a spine-release. After firing, you depress the release button and let the blade drop ~2/3 in then pull the charger back until the blade is fully seated. Research into it found that at the time it was called the "Automatique Ejectable Selbstöffnend". Strange because "Automatique" is French but "Selbstöffnend" is German for 'self-opening'.
