British Chillington 'ARPAX' Axe.ARP and Civil defense use during WW2.
The 'ARPAX' was manufactured by the Chillington Tool Company Limited of Wolverhampton was used by air raid precaution (ARP) and civil defense personnel this is a type of fireman's axe used during WW2 in the United Kingdom. The ARPAX was designed to be a versatile tool that could be used for a variety of emergency situations, including cutting through debris and other obstacles in the aftermath of an air raid.
This example has some damage to rubber but still remains sturdy and a great piece of British history.
