Ivory & Silver Topped Bamboo Swagger Stick
17 1/2" in length
Lovely 19th century swagger stick, c1860-80. The main body of the stick is light bamboo.
The head end is beautifully carved in ivory and depicts a clenched fist usually a Nautical/Whaler symbol. The detail is amazing with even the fingernails picked out. There is a silver metal collar helping to secure the fist to the main stick.
The wood has taken on great colour/patina following many years of use and handling.
Overall condition is excellent
