Early Gimbal Ships Lamp- Possibly WW2
A good early 20th century gimbal lamp stamped with patent number AP9009. The gimbal is used to keep an item level in respect to the horizon despite the ships pitching and rolling.This model of lamp was known to be used by the Royal Navy in WWII period.
A great example, with fabulous original patina. The brass free from dents damage, some scuffs to black base. Original wire remains although not wired to todays standards.
