WW1 Red Cross Nurses Cap
Often referred to as a Sister Dora cap this oblong veil was worn around the head by Red Corss and Voluntary Aid Detchment Nurses between 1915-1930.
An oblong of white silk, cambric or linen, unstarched, placed centrally on the head, the front edge to be worn straight cross the forehead and the two corners of front edge brought straight round the head fastening at the back with plain safety pin over the folds.
The Red Cross emblem at centre front was introduced c1925
