Description

An early 20th century silver plated locking tantalus housing three cut glass whiskey decanters with faceted ball stoppers.

D&A Silver Plate Tantalus & Decanters
An excellent silver plated tantalus with three hobnail cut crystal decanters and stoppers.
The silver plate is in very good condition with no losses but is missing the key.
The 3 decanters are all complete and a little rough around their bottoms where they have been in and out of the tantalus.
There are a few flew bits on the stoppers and 1 small flaw in the neck of 1 decanter.

Circa 1900-1920 Frank Sinatra owned a D&A tantalus that sold for $3200 in 2019 similar to this

Established by Thomas Henry Daniel and Thomas Richard Arter at Globe Nevada Silver Works, Highgate Street, Birmingham. In 1920 they became a limited company but closed in the 1930s.
