Wooden Sample Box from Pilkington Brothers Limited
Dates from the late 19th, early 20th Century. Pilkington Brothers used the word "Limited" from 1894 In very good sound condition with original hinges and catches. It closes snugly and the lid opens in two parts which fold back fully.( 4 hinges in all) Dovetailed joints,Good Gold lettering.This was a sample box that originally contained the salesman's range of Glass products. Pilkington Brothers Limited developed to become one of the foremost Glass Manufacturers in the World. Pilkington Glass!It is approx.34cm long by 13cm deep by 10 cm. high. It really is a very nice example and would make a great addition to any collection.
